Baby Nursery Room Decor Ideas & Free Giveaway

Today's choices for decorating your child's room is simply amazing! There are so many designs and styles to choose from that range from cute character designs to posh modern bedding styles.

With so many choices, what's a mother to do? Should you go contemporary, whimsical, bright and fun, or vintage? Well, that really depends on what kind of statement you want to make with your baby's nursery or toddler's room.

Here's a few things to keep in mind:

  • Remember it's a child's room. You want it to be inviting and comfortable for your child. Not a museum where you are concerned about things getting ruined or broken.

  • Color plays a big part in our mood, including children. The colors should be fun but at the same time soothing. Keep the really loud colors for the playroom. This site offers great info of how color affects our mood.

  • Try to keep the nursery decor simple and inexpensive. As your child grows and their interests change it will be easy to change your decor.

  • Be creative. Look for things around your house that you can use to design your child's room. Make Baby Stuff.com had some great nursery decor ideas using everyday items from around the house.

Father's Day Craft Ideas for Toddlers

I can't believe Father's Day is right around the corner. I have been searching for easy crafts for Alexander to do for his dad. I found some great ideas that are really simple for toddlers and you don't need a lot of supplies.

Familycorner.com had a quite a few craft ideas but these were my favorits:

This keychain is really simple and can easily be modified to reflect dad's favorite interest. Such as substituting the footballs for golfballs.

I really love this salt dough paperweight, it's a great craft for any age. I was having some trouble linking to the web address (as with the one below also), so just copy and paste into your browser to get there.

Parents.com had this adorable desk organizer that would make a great gift for dad's desk.

You can find a whole list of great crafts by age at DLTK Kids. This cute mobile is so versatile. If you really want to get crafty, you can change the designs to reflect one of dad's interests or use little pictures of your child rather then shapes.
